The Silverado 1500 is available with three cab configurations: Regular Cab, Double Cab, and Crew Cab. Depending on the cab style, bed length varies from 5.8 feet to over 8 feet. No matter what your needs are, you’ll have plenty of options to customize your Silverado.
When properly equipped, the Chevy Silverado 1500 towing capacity is up to 13,300 lbs with the available 6.2L V8 or 3.0L Duramax® turbo-diesel and Max Trailering Package. Maximum payload maxes out at 2,260 lbs with the 2.7L TurboMax.
The Silverado 1500 offers four engine options, each offering impressive performance:
- A 2.7-liter four-cylinder TurboMax engine that produces 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque.
- A 5.3-liter V8 engine that delivers 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque.
- A 6.2-liter V8 engine that generates 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque.
- A 3.0-liter Duramax® turbo-diesel engine that provides 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque.
Rear-wheel drive is standard on most trims, with four-wheel drive available.
The 3.0L Duramax® turbo-diesel leads the lineup when it comes to fuel efficiency, getting up to 23 mpg city / 28 mpg highway. The 2.7L TurboMax is the top gas-powered option with 18–19 city / 21–22 highway (2WD). The 5.3L and 6.2L V8s get mid-to-upper teens combined. 4WD models run slightly lower across the board.
